Each year, brands ship billions of products back and forth, using a new package every single time. Sendala is a beautifully simple, service-based alternative to our single-use packaging problem. Its low-impact reusable satchels are designed to help ecommerce brands eliminate waste, increase their bottom lines and move towards a circular future.

The challenge

Create a premium brand for a groundbreaking new reusable packaging service aimed at fashion, beauty & lifestyle retailers looking to improve their sustainability credentials without compromising their aesthetic.

The strategy

We knew we needed a brand with a clear point of view that would strike the perfect balance between form and function (just like the product itself). But before we moved into creative, we spent time developing our brand story, pillars and messaging to give our creative team a watertight brief. We also needed an impactful name - so we invented a word. Sendala is inspired by the sanskrit word for circle: mandala. In eastern religions, mandalas symbolise repetition, patterns and the cyclical nature of life.

Brand expression

The cyclical nature of the product influenced our circular graphic language and repeated text and patterns, while our visual identity leans into an understated, largely monochromatic colour scheme and clean, confident aesthetic.

Brandmark

For the wordmark, organic curves were added to a contemporary san serif typeface, while the brandmark combines two 3D circles to create a unique and recognisable monogram.
